Industrial Engineering Study Program , Faculty of Engineering , Medan Area University held a webinar event titled ” Toyota Manufacturing System & Latest Technology Developments ” on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 through the Zoom application and live streaming on the Medan Area University YouTube Channel . The resource person of the webinar was Mr. Ir. Made Dana M Tangkas, M.Sc, IPU, AER who is the Director of Toyota Motor Indonesia.
This webinar was held publicly and was attended by hundreds of participants from universities throughout Indonesia and abroad, the Ministry, Contractors and Researchers. The program began with remarks by moderator Ms. Yuana Delvika, ST, MT, activity report by Ka. Industrial Engineering Study Program Mr. Yudi Daeng Polewangi, ST, MT , remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Mrs. Dr. Grace Yuswita Harahap, MT , and at the same time opening.
The preliminary material delivered by the resource person contains about how the business, industry and the development of industrial technology 4.0 towards New Normal. The Covid 19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia resulted in a decline in all sectors of the economy, business, industry and tourism.
The core material presented contained about Lean Manufacturing / Enterprise: Value, System, Leadership (Toyota Way, TPS and Leader). This material contains several Models of Toyota Ways, Business Activity, Productivity, Work Concepts adapted from the Philosophy Toyota Manufacturing system.
Closing discussion will continue on what are the challenges and opportunities of the 4.0 industry in the future. As is the case in Indonesia in this pandemic era, all digital facilities have been implemented both for business, industry and learning processes carried out digitally.
The event went well until the end of the whole series of events. All participants’ questions were answered clearly by the speakers and received very positive responses from all participants.
